2008 Ford Mustang Convertible
|
The Mustang Convertible is an update of an American classic, and while that's a tough role to play, the automotive press generally thinks the drop-top ponycar pulls it off.
It earns high marks for its retro exterior and strong performance. Its interior materials aren't quite up to the level of a few competitors, like the 2008 Chevy Camaro and space is a bit wanting for both storage and back seat passengers.
The 2008 Ford Mustang convertible earns praise for its performance and stylized body that echoes the classic models made from 1965 through 1969. When the Mustang Coupe was redesigned in 2005, its modern homage to the classic Mustang helped kick off a design craze that has seen other automakers try to revive classic musclecar nameplates, such as the 2008 Dodge Challenger.
In either a powerful V8 or a capable V6, the Mustang Convertible is a strong competitor. It's priced competitively as well, is one of the top performers in the segment, and gets decent safety scores.
The Mustang can't make a strong case for its value when it comes to fuel-efficiency howeverr,= its 17/26 MPG rating is one of the lowest among four-seat convertibles.

For 2008, Ford has made side air bags a standard feature and added several new options and special editions, including a GT California appearance package, another name resurrected from the past.
